The additive manufacturing-focused subsidiary of BASF New Business GmbH, BASF 3D Printing Solutions (B3DPS) announced Tuesday that it is rebranding as Forward AM and expanding its product offerings in advance of the trade show Formnext 2019.
“With the introduction of its new Forward AM corporate brand, B3DPS continues to pursue its goal of driving industrial scalability as the next phase of additive-based manufacturing,” the company said in a press release. “’Forward’ stands for future-oriented, leading-edge materials and technology, while ‘AM’ stands for ‘additive manufacturing.’”
Forward AM provides end-to-end materials and service solutions across the additive manufacturing value chain. According to BASF, the newly-renamed firm has the biggest materials portfolio in the industrial 3D printing market, including powder bed fusion, advanced plastic and metal filaments, and photopolymers.
BASF’s company will showcase its range of materials – from initial design concept through printing and finishing – at Formnext in Frankfurt am Main, Germany from November 19-22.
During the first quarter of next year, Forward AM plans to introduce an advanced flexible coating that was developed with HP for use in the firm’s Jet Fusion 3D-printer. The firm also said it will expand its portfolio of thermoplastic Ultrafuse filaments in early 2020.
