New granule products increase customer productivity and cost effectiveness

DuPont's Specialty Products Division's DuPont Transportation and Advanced Materials Division launched several new 3D printing materials at the Chinaplas in 2019 (Booth No. 11.2A31), including six new DuPontTM Zytel® Polyamide and Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPC-ET) granules, as well as 2 new Hytrel® print wires. Among them, new granular materials for particle extrusion are specially developed to improve 3D manufacturing flexibility and cost efficiency. With these materials, customers are able to maintain polymer properties while seamlessly switching between prototyping, small batch production, pilot production and mass production. The new granules and wires are available in a variety of hardnesses, fiber reinforcement types and colors.

“With the application of 3D printing technology beyond traditional prototyping and small-volume production, the 3D printing industry is investigating the technology to expand production scale, speed production, and reduce costs.” DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa Christophe Paulo, Head of Consumer Strategy Marketing, said, “With the granule and wire products DuPont offers, customers have greater flexibility.

Sex, the same material can be used in different processes. For example, customers can use prototypes to create prototypes, use pellet extrusion processes to make finished parts, and even mass-produce in injection molding processes while ensuring consistent performance across all of these products. Our granular materials will drive the trend of mass customization using 3D printing technology. ”

DuPont's automotive air lines and structural parts exhibited at Chinaplas demonstrate the diversity and functionality of its Zytel® and Hytrel® 3D particles.

Zytel® polyamides can be used to produce rugged and reliable parts

At Chinaplas 2019, DuPont introduced new glass fiber reinforced, carbon fiber reinforced and unreinforced Zytel® polyamide (PA) granules and exhibited the company's previous wire products.

Over the past 70 years, the benefits of Zytel® specialty resins have been proven in thousands of applications. In 3D printing applications, Zytel® granules and wires maximize the strength and stiffness of the material while providing ultra-low shrinkage and warpage for robust, powerful and powerful applications. component. These materials have excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance and low moisture absorption compared to PA6 copolyamides, which reduce the difference in printing and better maintain their properties. The material properties of Zytel® pellets and wires are similar to the Zytel materials used in the injection molding process.

Glass fiber reinforced products

DuPont fiberglass reinforced products have a heat distortion temperature (HDT) above 150 ° C, excellent surface quality, and are resistant to common solvents and

  Chemicals. New products include:

Zytel® 3D12G30PT pellets with 30% glass fiber reinforcement (black)

Carbon fiber reinforced products

DuPont carbon fiber reinforced products are lighter and more rugged for structural applications in the aerospace and automotive sectors. Zytel® carbon fiber reinforced materials have excellent surface quality, heat distortion temperatures above 150 ° C and excellent chemical resistance. New products include: Zytel® 3D10C20PT pellets with 20% carbon fiber reinforcement (black) non-reinforced products

DuPont's non-reinforced Zytel® polyamide products are suitable for functional 3D printed parts that require a beautiful appearance, high elongation at break, and low friction. These materials have good strength and stiffness as well as excellent thermal properties (heat distortion temperatures above 100 ° C) and are as shrinking as any other Zytel® 3D printing material to help customers print easily. New products include:

Zytel® 3D1000PT Granules (Natural)

Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomers for the production of flexible functional parts

Hytrel® Thermoplastic Polyester Elastomer is a versatile copolyester with a variety of hardnesses to meet the requirements of different applications. As a semi-crystalline material, Hytrel® combines the flexibility of rubber with the high strength and processability of thermoplastics. Key properties include heat resistance, chemical resistance, high strength, high resilience and durability. Specialty Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomers offer extremely low shrinkage and are ideal for flexible parts.

These granule and wire materials provide excellent 3D printing performance, including consistent mechanical properties in the X, Y, Z print orientation, low humidity sensitivity during printing, and good flexibility in finished parts. Like Zytel® granules and wires, these properties of Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomers are also suitable for injection molding processes.
